Silk Painting: Painting Your Border

Painting your boarder

Painting your Border

  1. Use a large paintbrush or foambrush
  2. Start from one corner, and place your brush near the gutta line, but not close that you are in danger of having paint run across it.
  3. Paint quickly along one side.
  4. Work on the two leading edges of paint, so that both are kept wet and you do not get watermarks. Add paint to one edge and paint more along that side, then dip your brush in the paint and add more paint to the other edge and work on that side until you need more paint, and so on.
  5. Turn the frame around as you go, to make access to each side easier.
  6. If your resultant border is not smooth, leave it to dry and then apply another coat.

When you have finished painting, let the silk stay on the frame until it is completely dry.
